Learning English has always been a personal challenge for me, but now it’s closely tied to my professional goals.

As a DevOps engineer, I realized that understanding technical documents, writing proper commit messages, and joining meetings in English are essential.

At first, I tried to study English in a general way—textbooks, grammar videos, and word lists.

But it didn’t last long. I couldn’t stay motivated because it felt disconnected from my real work.

Then I decided to change my approach. I started writing about what I actually do—DevOps tasks, tools, and challenges I face.

It was surprising how much easier it became to remember expressions and improve my writing.

Now, I’m trying to write every week in English—not just to improve my skills, but to build confidence.

I know I still make mistakes. But the important thing is that I’ve finally found a way to learn that’s meaningful to me.

This blog is part of that journey.

📘 Korean Translation

영어 학습은 항상 개인적으로 어려운 도전이었지만, 지금은 저의 직업적인 목표와 밀접하게 연결되어 있습니다.

DevOps 엔지니어로서 기술 문서를 읽고, 커밋 메시지를 적절히 작성하고, 영어 회의에 참여하는 것은 필수라는 걸 깨달았습니다.

처음에는 교과서, 문법 영상, 단어 암기 같은 일반적인 방식으로 영어 공부를 시도했습니다.

하지만 오래가지 못했어요. 실무와 동떨어진 느낌이 들어 동기부여가 되지 않았습니다.

그래서 방향을 바꾸기로 했고, 실제로 내가 하는 일에 대해 쓰기 시작했습니다. DevOps 업무, 사용하는 도구, 마주하는 문제들에 대해요.

표현을 기억하고 글쓰기를 향상시키는 일이 훨씬 쉬워졌다는 점이 놀라웠습니다.

지금은 영어 실력 향상뿐 아니라 자신감을 쌓기 위해 매주 글을 쓰려고 노력하고 있어요.

아직 실수를 많이 하지만, 중요한 건 저에게 의미 있는 학습 방식을 드디어 찾았다는 점입니다.
